Module content
Lectures:
  1. Introduction to GIS

    Modelling of real world. Data gathering: structure, type and formats. Raster and vector model. CAD – GIS.

  2. Spatial analysis

    Analysis in vector and raster model. Digital Terrain Model, its further products: slope, aspect, illumination and their role in DSS in environmental engineering. Optimalisation of the location and “short way” case. 3D visualisation. Interchanege between GIS and CAD. Multicritera/object analysis as a conflict situation analysis.

  3. Data models

    Coordinate systems in GIS. Data integration considering scales, formats and coordinate systems. Vector/raster coversion.

Project classes:
  1. Spatial data creation

    GIS data base design. Input data to the system: maps, satellite images. Vector/raster conversion. Data integration (scale, format, coordinate system).

  2. Spatial analysis for DSS in environmental engineering

    Spatial analysis in vector and raster model. Analysis of a new investment influence on the environment. Analysis using DTM, cartographical presentation of the results of GIS anaysis.
