Module content
Lectures:
Lecture of the General Chemistry

Lecture: Basic concepts and laws of chemistry, atomic structure, electron configurations of atoms. Periodic table of elements, the properties of elements, the chemical bonds. States of matter (the properties of gases, liquids and solids, liquid crystals, plasmas). The classification of inorganic compounds, nomenclature of compounds, chemical reactions (reaction types). Chemical equations, therochemical calculation (heat of the reaction). Chemical kinetics, chemical equilibrium, equilibrium constant. Concentration of the solutions. Colloidal solutions – structure, properties. Reactions in the electrolytes: dissociation, solvatation, hydrolysis. Mass transport (diffusion, convection, migration). Basic concepts of electrochemistry. Practical aspects of electrochemistry (corrosion of metals, electrolysis, electroplating). Fundamentals of inorganic and organic chemistry. Fundamentals of polymer chemistry. Materials chemistry.
