Ćwiczenia laboratoryjne:
COMPUTER LABORATORY

  • Introduction to IBM 5250 terminal operation*
    − student has the ability to perform basic IBM 5250 terminal menu and command operations.
  • IBM i system object management introduction
    − student has the ability to create and manage libraries and physical files,
    − student has the ability to configure access to objects of IBM i file system.
  • IBM i CL language program creation and execution
    − student has the ability to create physical source files using SEU editor and 5250 terminal session,
    − student has the ability to compile programs coded with CL language,
    − student has the ability to execute command line programs using 5250 terminal session.
  • DB2 database management using IBM i Navigator tool
    − student has the ability to control IBM i system management GUI tools,
    − student has the ability to create simple tables of integrated DB2 database of IBM i system.
  • IBM i tool based SQL request analysis and optimization
    − student has the ability to execute SQL queries using 5250 terminal session,
    − student has the ability to execute SQL queries using IBM Navigator GUI,
    − student has the ability to perform analysis of SQL queries using Visual Explain tools.
  • IBM i system application development using Rational Developer IDE
    − student has the ability to manage IBM Rational Developer IDE,
    − student has the ability to create simple CL language applications using Rational Developer IDE.
  • Introduction to RPG programming using 5250 interface
    − student has the ability to develop simple monolithic RPG language program using Rational Developer IDE,
    − student has the ability to develop simple modular RPG language program making use of integrated DB2 for IBM i database tables,
    − student has the ability to develop simple DDS 5250 application interface using Rational Developer IDE.
  • IBM Power System server virtual machines (logical partitioning) management
    − student has the ability to activate remote management services using IBM Hardware Management Console.
  • Introduction to IBM i system based WebSphere application system services
    − student has the ability to active Java EE application services operating under control of IBM WebSphere application server on IBM i system platform.

Sposób obliczania oceny końcowej:

During laboratory exercises students design and program demonstration applications, developed using CL and RPG programming languages and executed in 5250 terminal interface environment. The applications are being rated according to criteria published on course web page and announced at the first laboratory meeting.
Additionally, students undergo colloquium verifying knowledge of general properties of IBM Power server and IBM i operating system architecture.
Final grade is calculated as an arithmetic average of above-mentioned partial marks.
