Treść modułu zajęć (program wykładów i pozostałych zajęć)
Wykład:

Firstly students are introduced to the structure and circulation of financial and medical documents in general health service. Then they are acquainted with IT tools that they will use to work with capital and medical documents. (2h)

Secondly students are got to know SQL, the administration of databases such as: MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL (4h).

Then they acquire knowledge of an internet application in medical use – basic technologies and its usage. (4h)

The last topic is about IT systems that support work of medical facilities. (5h)

To get credits in lecture of subject student has to do project by himself/herself and give it to lecturer.

A domestic storage of medicines (first-aid kit or mess?)
Target of the project: to rationalize a management of medicines in home first-aid kits.

Tools: php, MySQL.
Environment: Linux available on student.agh.edu.pl server
Interface: internet browser

In great majority of households many medicines, that doctors order us to buy or we buy them on our own, lie on shelves. It often happens that we do not remember if we are in a possession of medicine that doctor order us to buy, so we buy it. That is way I propose innovative solution to design and perform system, that will help patients to control “medicine mess”.

Main task of the system will be to store information about medicines that patient has been possessing including its validity date and how to utilize expired ones.
In improved version system will store data such as: who took medicine, when patient took it, what kind of medicine this patient took in the past – what make it easy for doctor to get to know what kind of medicine and when we took in the past.
Project and the degree of completion is evaluated .
There is no possibility to get an positive assessment without knowledge of the way a source code works. (oral examination).

To get 3 grade: Student has to design and do system, in which some activities are possible, such as :
- Log in by selected users using session,
- Introducing new medicines including information of: name, quantity, price, validity date of medicine,
- Noting down quantitative expense of medinie,
- Informing user after log in, which medicines expired and should be utilize.

To get 4 grade: Student has to design and do system, in which some activities are possible, such as :
- to fulfill all of activities for 3 grade,
- noting down who took medicines and when he/she take it.

To get 5 grade: Student has to design and do system, in which some activities are possible, such as :
- to fulfill all of activities for 4 grade,
- to present basic statistical parameters of usage medicines from home first-aid kit,
- to present report which includes costs of utilizing medicines in selected time intervals.

Ćwiczenia laboratoryjne:

Account management and basic knowledge of Linux. Creating an account for the database MySQL and its support for the use of the selected database manager (2 h).

Database design based on the selected tool (2 h).

Practical use of the selected SQL database structure (2 h)

Modeling selected, site medical applications using UML (2 h).

Implementation of selected medical applications based on pre-designed project (4 h).

Data security in web applications that store sensitive data (1 h)
Work with selected commercial IT system supporting the work of institutions
