Module content
Auditorium classes:

Students will be familiarised with geological vocabulary and will practice analysis and writing of geological English texts. The activities will include description of rock samples (mineral composition, texture, structure, rock type, mineralization type), borehole logging and documentation of rock complexes at various scales. The JORC code vocabulary will also be introduced.
Study of selected publications and exploration reports will be followed by exercises in geological report writing (including: geography and geology of the investigated area, sampling, geological work performed, environmental aspects, data interpretation and synthesis).
