Module content
Lectures:

Lectures will cover the following topics:
- Introduction to contemporary management and entrepreneurship – from start-ups and new ventures to multinational corporations.
- Competitive advantage in modern environment.
- Open Innovations and Strategies; Innovating in existing markets.
- Digital Business Models.
- Society, ethics and social responsibility as modern challenges for organisations.
- Demographic challenges and managing diversity in contemporary workplace.
- Technological development and managing innovations.
- Artificial Intelligence: balancing AI and human creativity; AI implications for strategy,
- New concepts in management, their roots and evolution.

Auditorium classes:

The classes will give students experience in the following areas of modern management:
- New trends and challenges in organizations’ environment – managerial and engineering perspective.
- Leadership by design: creating innovations, innovation ecosystems and innovative culture.
- Contemporary approach to creative problem solving, innovations, and change.
- The role of assets, organizational capabilities and competences.
- Human capital in organization: expectations, requirements and challenges.
- Possible organizations’ responses to contemporary challenges.
- Selected new concepts of management for XXI century organizations.
- Designing and implementing new managerial tools.

Method of calculating the final grade:

The final grade is calculated as the average of the positive marks from the test, essay and presentation given during the classes.
In the case of receiving a negative grade in the first and subsequent dates, the grade is calculated as the average of all the grades obtained so far.
