During the classes, students will have an opportunity to get to know the issues related to the
cooling load, as well as the English language used in this industry. After completing the course, they will be able to use the acquired knowledge in the field of developing air conditioning projects.

Module content
Lectures (15h):

The lecture topics cover issues related to the cooling load. The lecture will discuss: Charging load and heat gains, cooling load for the whole building, partial load of air conditioning devices, cooling load compensated by secondary heating, bypass instead of secondary heater, main and bypass damper, cooling and sequential heating, zone systems with heater placed above the radiator, cooling load of a two-wire air-conditioning system, cooling load in water and air installations, separation of loads due to sensible and latent heat gains, graphs of warm loads

Project classes (15h):

Development of a project characterizing the cooling load of a selected object. Preparation and work on the project. Oral assessment of the project.

Teaching methods and techniques:
  • Lectures: The content presented at the lecture is provided in the form of a multimedia presentation in combination with a classical lecture panel enriched with demonstrations relating to the issues presented.
  • Project classes: Students carry out the project on their own without major intervention. This is to create a sense of responsibility for group work and responsibility for making decisions.

Exercises end with an oral examination of the project in English.
