Metody i techniki kształcenia:
  • Lektorat: Eclectic approach covering 4 skills: speaking, writing, reading and listening with the use of various techniques based on the following types of interaction: teacher-student, student-teacher, student-student, as well as working in groups and student’s individual work.
Warunki i sposób zaliczenia poszczególnych form zajęć, w tym zasady zaliczeń poprawkowych, a także warunki dopuszczenia do egzaminu:

In order to receive an end-of-semester pass mark, it is required to pass all tests during the semester.

In case a student fails a test at the first attempt, they have the right to resit the test under the following conditions:

  • Receiving a pass mark at the second attempt results in deleting the fail mark received at the first attempt and replacing it with the pass mark, which will then be taken into account while calculating the average for the final grade.
  • Receiving a pass mark at the third attempt results in obtaining the average of the two marks (fail and pass), and recording the average mark in the course records. The average mark in case of regular tests must not be lower than 3.0.
  • Unexcused absence results in missing the first attempt at the test.
  • Each student has the right to resit a test twice.
  • Tests can take place in intervals not shorter than 2 days.
  • Each student has the right to see their marked tests and ask for explanation regarding the marking system and the correct answers, but they must not take photos of the tests or copy them in any other way.

The student needs to have a language textbook required for the group and level, and complete home assignments. The lack of required materials (textbook, home assignments) results in recording the student as “unprepared”. The teacher has the right to give a student a fail mark for the semester if the student has been unprepared for more than 50% of classes, also in the case when the student has passed all required tests.

The student can receive additional marks for being active in class, optional homework, presentations, and other activity offered and done for the benefit of the language group.

Only the students who have successfully completed all required semesters (received a pass mark in each required semester) are eligible to take the final exam.

Zasady udziału w zajęciach:
  • Lektorat:
    – Obecność obowiązkowa: Tak
    – Zasady udziału w zajęciach: Students who come to a language class need to be prepared as advised and instructed by the teacher (for example, in the form of language exercises). The evaluation of each student can be based on their oral production and/or written tests, which according to the AGH UST Study Regulations translates into the final grade for this form of university classes.
Sposób obliczania oceny końcowej:

The final grade is calculated as the average of the exam grade and the end-of-semester grades obtained in all semesters before the final language exam.

Sposób i tryb wyrównywania zaległości powstałych wskutek nieobecności studenta na zajęciach:

The student should attend all classes of their language group. In case a student is absent from (a) class(es) due to an illness, the student should present a doctor’s note not later than 14 days after the absence caused by illness. In case of an unexcused absence, the student should approach the teacher, who will inform each student individually about the way of making up for the absence. The absence has to be made up for within 14 days counted from the day of the absence. Unexcused absence in two classes does not need to be made up for. If the number of unexcused absences in class exceeds 7, the teacher should not give the student a pass mark for the semester, even if some of the absences have been made up for before.
